About Ashley Chamberlainaboutashphoto

Tucson native, Ashley Chamberlain, has been building quality furniture for the past twenty years. Her Southwest/Country style and the vibrant colors she chooses are what make each piece unique. With a Bachelor's degree in set design, Ashley's gift for building and creating functional art made itself known when she was a student at the University of Arizona. Since then, she has built a successful business around her creations.

While working and selling mostly out of her home, Ashley also participates in several Arizona craft shows throughout the year (See Shows).

Long before the Green Movement began, Ashley used recycled wood for her projects.  Most of this wood once served as warehouse shelving.  New wood contains more moisture, causing it to warp and crack as it dries; old wood is more dependable when building furniture. All wood has to adjust to its surroundings, but old wood is drier and is less likely to split.  Furthermore, older wood has a tighter grain and rich patina that simply can't be manufactured.

Despite her calm demeanor, Ashley Chamberlain is a very active person. For the past 12 years, she has played on a local women's soccer team. She is also an equestrian. Throughout her youth she spent her days caring for, riding, and showing horses. These days though, she prefers quiet rides on her horse Mack. As if that wasn't enough, Ashley is also the drummer and one of the founding members of the Tucson band The Spurloafers, who are currently recording their sophomore album. Between her wide variety of interests and her deep love of the Sonoran Desert, it is easy to see the sources of Ashley's inspiration.
